Almost, but not quite! The "V" version is designed for 48VDC pickup
with a 2.5K ohm coil, guaranteed to pick up at 36 mA MAX. The "J"
version is a "sensitive DC current" relay designed to pick up at a "Must
operate" current of 8.4 mA with a MAX current of 28 mA, still with a
2.5k ohm coil.
They might work, but I'd be concerned about coil dissipation and ... ?
On the other hand, it may be that the only real difference is the
retraction spring is more precisely selected or adjusted at manufacture!

I have documented that you can use a Potter & Brumfield
R10-E1-Y4-V2.5K relay for the Drake tube TX. I have two
R10-E1-Y4-J2.5K relay here. Can anyone tell me if they work for the
Drakes, or ??? Thanks.
