A few weeks back there was a thread about rigs that came from smoking hams and
a product that might help rid the rig of the left over odors. Evan, K9SQG
mentioned a product but did not remember specifics.
I went to Meijer and got what I think was the correct product. Here are the
results that I got with the product I selected based on Evan's comments.
I picked up a "tub" of Natural Magic and put my smoker rig into a loose bag
with the product. In about 10 days I took the rig out and left it air (the
Natural Magic has its own smell that is really unpleasant IMHO). The rig is
100% better. The coil cord of the mic was better, but not that great. I put
it in another week or so. Got it out, aired it, and it is now acceptable, but
not great. I am guessing that the "rubber" of the coil cord is more porous so
will take longer.
I know that others were looking at trying the product, I would appreciate
comments on their results.
