D100 in the needle applicator is 100% concentration where you want it
vs 5% in the spray which goes everywhere.  Use the spray only when it
is impossible to get the needle into the contact.  If you work the
controls after application you may find it useful to use a Q-tip a
minute later to soak up the excess which usually comes up black.
DeOXit at 100% will remove a portion of the blacking but not all.
Most importantly, it will clean the actual wiping surface and leave
behind a lubricant.  If you follow up with a tiny amount of ProGold
the contacts will be even more tarnish resistant.

BTW, silver tarnish is not oxide, it's a sulphate.  Contrary to
popular belief, humdity is not the cause of the tarnish: airborne
sulphur is the culprit.
