Adding 160M to an L4B http://www.pa6z.nl/PROJECTS/L4B_160_MOD/body_l4b_160_mod.html I recommend changing the L-4B RF plate choke to the one available from RF Parts if you want 160M. The RF Parts part no. RFC3 plate choke is slightly longer and might have to be mounted horizontally to fit in the L-4B cabinet. The L-4B plate choke does not have enough inductance at 1.8-2 Mhz for proper operation on 160m. One problem with modifying a L-4B for 160M will be not having extra bandswitch positions for switching the extra tank plate and load fixed capacitors needed for 160M.
