The L7 does cover 160 whereas the L4 and L4B do not.? They all share a common
power supply and, whether the supply is rebuilt or upgraded (please see article
on WB4HFN regarding replacement capacitors, etc.), it is a good idea to replace
the 5 K 7 watt resistor.? I use two 10 K resistors at 10 watts each in parallel
when I rebuild the supplies.? When the original resistor fails (see
whitish/grayish color as a early indicator of impending doom) it puts high
voltage on the ALC pot which, for the L4B, hasn't been available in over 25
years.

Hi all,
I've been looking for an L-4 amp. Now I met someone on the air who is
running one. He says it does not cover 160 meters. Is that correct? Must
I rethink my search for an amp? boo hoo
