Hi Ken,
I did something similar with blue finger nail polish....it was
somewhat embarrassing during the procurement process. I am 6 foot,
bellied, with a full beard....the clerk looked at me a little funny.

This afternoon I had a minor brain fart. I was looking at the
Mountain Dew colored display on my TR4 (1969 model) and
I thought - wait a minute! I have a set of colored markers!
Sure enough, I had a blue Sharpie brand marker. After a
test which showed the blue could be rubbed off, I decided
to mark my lamps with the blue marker. The results are very
nice but a bit dim compared to what I'm used to.
Still - it looks one heck of a lot better than before. I wonder
why nobody else has tried this? All I did was mark the glass
bulbs....
