If the tubes have been on the shelf it can pay off to have
them heated without plate-current for several hours which should return
potential loss of vacuum. I had an AMP Supply LK 500
which had rested for 10 years and when turning on there were blue
sparks and light in one of the 3-500 Z:s obviously due to lack of vacuum.
