Some years ago I made a connector using #10 awg THHN solid wire. Take a short length and slide the insulation off. Set it aside for later use. Cut the stripped wire into 1-inch lengths as necessary. File one end flat and the other end hemispherical. with a small bit, drill a hole about 1/4 inch deep in the flat end of the 1-inch wire. Solder your cable wire into this hole.

After it cools, cut a suitable length of the insulation and slide it over the pin and solder joint. You now have a 1-pin connector that can be inserted into one side of the female connector. Do this again for the other wire in the cable.

Be careful and do not burn yourself or let solder splatter on you.

It worked for me and I sold the L4B the next day at the Ten Tec Hamfest.

This connector has been obsolete since slightly before Drake specified it!! Or at least it seems that way.

You have a several options.

1. Purchase for $0-50 PER connector when they show up on E*

2 Make your own, per:

3. Do what Drake did and make a small metal plate to cover the rectangular hole in the chassis', mount it with the existing screws, and mount an RCA Phono jack in it's place. It only has to handle about 30 VDC @ 60 mA.

Hi All
The vox relay for my TR-7A, L7, T-4XC and L-4B requires a 2 pin connector. Can someone tell me where I can buy four of them or two cables with one at each end? Thanks, George Bennett, K1GMB
