All I can add to Don's comments is that the TR switches did not mute the receiver, they only switched the antenna electronically between transmitter and receiver.? However, the TR relays (Dow-Key, Advance Electric, etc.) sometimes had external contacts that could be used to mute the receiver during transmit.
The B&W (tunable) TR switch, the E. F. Johnson TR switch, and Dow-Key TR switch do come up on Upay, I mean eBay, from time to time with the Johnson being the most expensive in the $125-175 range.?
