Thank you to all who answered. It seems this unit has the dreaded Drake "sticky" finish :-) This is the first time I've seen it.
Now to figure out what to do. Get all my cases refinished, or clean the MN-2700 up as best I can and possibly refinish it myself (using the Drake pages references) and live with it.
