I just installed it in the same way that the old mixer was in. The reason to leave it as it came is so the receive input goes to the IF port which is DC to 200 mhz and the receiver works all the way down to almost 0 mhz. By the way Vari-L was bought by Sirenza Microdevices which has since sold to a company called RFMD.

SRA-3H as MCL intended, or did you keep the Drake hookup where the RF
and LO ports were swapped?
