The original neon bulb in the B-Line is an NE-2E, now known as an A9A. It's specified as a standard brightness neon with a 25,000 hour expected life, and a 90V."Breakdown" (Firing) voltage.

The NE-2H (C2A) is a high brightness neon, 25,000 hour life, but requires a 50% higher firing voltage than the standard type.
