Hello Drakelist
A friend has an MN-2700 tuner that has flashed over on the first
'padding' capacitor on his MN-2700 tuner. I am certain that this is the
function of the 'plates ' that lie under the air variables. We have
cleaned it etc. but it now flashes over with only a few hundred watts.
My question to the list is:
1. Is there any replacements available out there
2. Has anyone tried to reconstruct or replicate these, and if so any
tips or tricks to share
3. Lastly, what value are these, he is not necessarily concerned with
'originality' as he is 'functionality'. Doorknob caps could replace
these I am sure if I knew the value.
I haven't found the schematic (yet) but thought I would pose this to the
list ahead of that to see what the collective knowledge base here has to
say!
