I'm new to the list so forgive me if I ask a question that has been
asked before.
I'm working on a Drake L-75 amplifier. It blew the 0.82O 2W resistor and
'vaporized' some of the runs on the filter boards. Even though they read
good on a capacitance checker, I replaced the caps with "Techman"
electrolytics (made in USA). Unfortunately, due to the missing foil runs on
the pcb, I had to fold the cap leads back to where they made contact with
the runs. My only misgiving is whether it will withstand the HV there since
it was not designed that way. I would prefer a new board but I guess they
are like hens teeth.
So, one of my issues is due to the length of time it took me to finally
repair it, I have suffered from CRS and need an assist with which wire goes
where. Also, I would like to know what kind of fault took place to take out
the resistor, (which I think that is what's supposed to happen) and toasted
the foil runs. I don't know how it worked before hand since I received it
this way.
Any and all help/suggestions are greatly appreciated.
