Thanks for the tips on possible culprits.
What I learned was I had a poor connection in the PS7 that probably was the result of an accumulation of dust and dirt. Cleaned up a connection, where the two large caps are connected in series to the chassis ground (a fair sized arc when I powered up the radio was also a good indicator of where the problem was). Problem resolved and I'm all smiles! 73 W5BXE From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Richard Bell Sent: Sunday, October 04, 2009 8:21 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [Drakelist] TR7 Losing Power I have noticed my TR7 has developed a nasty little habit of shutting down when keyed. Power supply continues to run after shutdown. I can reboot the radio by turning off the power switch, waiting a few seconds and powering the radio back up. After that it seems OK. I've pulled the cover (scary thought) and made sure all the circuit boards were seated correctly. I also reseated the cinch connectors from the power supply. So far, so good. But, time will tell. Anyone else has had the same unnerving experience? 73 W5BXE
