Hi all I am i the process of restoring a R-4A s/n 3092 I got the other day. his particular receiver have been used as parts radio at one time, and the part that has been removed is the crystal oscillator board. I have to make a new one, and this task shouldn't cause too much trouble if it wasn't for the coil, L4. This coil or transformer is wound on something, and I wonder if it is possible to just take some plastic tube of the same diameter and use as a core? I have the xtal oscillator of my R-4B to look at, but I don't want to dismantle the thing completely to measure. Can somebody help?
