Dale, I have had real good luck with a 5x7 4 Ohm communications speaker from Surplus Sales of Nebraska. It is a simple and easy replacement for the MS-4. Here is the link to the page. It is also a replacement for Collins speakers so be warned that it is a bit pricey.

Using an 8 ohm speaker will give you less volume. A good replacement is the Radio Shack 40-1261C which comes up on ebay often, usually new in the box. It is a 4,8, or 16 ohm speaker. It comes with the jumpers to select whatever ohms you want. Radio Shack discontinued it a few years ago. I am not sure what the SB-600 Heathkit's used. > Al n7ioh > > On Dec 14, 2009, at 11:35 AM, [email protected] wrote: Need to find a replacement 6x9 ........8 .....ohm speaker ,one for my MS-4 and the other for a Heath sb-600. Can find all kinds of 4 ohm 6x9"s, but no 8 ohm. Any one know of a source for these speakers. > thanks > dale wt4t > > _______________________________________________ > Drakelist mailing list > [email protected] > http://mailman.zerobeat.net/mailman/listinfo/drakelist > > _______________________________________________ Drakelist mailing list > [email protected] http://mailman.zerobeat.net/mailman/listinfo/drakelist
