Once again I want to thank all of YOU for the great help, information
and files.
I went over the alignment of the T-4X again and now output on all bands
are up to snuff.
The LSB , USB , and CW work fine as far as I can tell.
However AM operation is weird.
I have a low power normal carrier but when I talk audio is very low and
some what distorted and the RF output cuts out on my voice peaks.
If the leave the Mike Gain very low it will not cut out but the audio is
not very good as I increase the gain the cut out starts.
Very much like a VOX with not enough hold time, or a very fast acting
ALC action, or a high SWR cut back action like the new rigs have???
The basic carrier stays the same as it should.
The R-4A works fine after all the work I did on it and I have the pair
synced with the C-61 adjustment.
The only problem left seems to be the AM issue.
So once again any ideas would be appreciated.
