I have made a couple of those unobtainable connectors using old 4 pin mic
connectors. Not the 4 pins with the close spacing like a "modern" rig might
use, but older Amphenol or Amphenol connectors.
These connectors have (obviously) 4 pins. Two pins are spaced closer together
than the other two. I checked the connector against the back of the AC-4, and
removed the two pins that were spaced incorrectly. I forget it it was the
closer or wider spaced pair that match the AC-4 connector. But, if you have one
of those 4 pin connectors, you can sort that out.
I have run across other 4pin connectors that would work just as well, but I do
not know what they are from. They are not Amphenol mic, but have a light duty
metal shell.
