Doc - Both those diodes cross to an NTE156, which is a 1000 PIV @ 2A rectifier.
IF your device actually NEEDS 2A, then a 1N5408 (3A) would be an inexpensive replacement.
If you actually need less than 1A, a 1N4007 is even cheaper and easier to find.
