Further to this I have no isolated the fault to Q1008 (a 3N204). For what its worth I had no output on pin 40, I was expecting 5.645MHz.
Y1003 (the 8.050MHz Crystal was oscillating lovely at 8.05011MHz). I Checked and measured 13.695MHz at the junction of Q1008 and R1034. This makes sense as the mode selector switch does not alter the received pirch of CW signals. Off to order a 3N204. Any other suggestions ?
