One of the options is to disable (turn off) email delivery, also known as vacation mode. That way you can read the postings on line without getting any emails, but still be able to post. Considering that you have to sign up and be approved to post, this can reduce the time and effort if you have a question and need an answer.

You could also chose digest mode, where you get one email a day. On busy days you can just delete it, on slow days, take a look at it.

A friend of mine calls it "New York mode", because you can shout without listening. :-)

New word I coined 12/13/09, "Sub-Wikipedia" adj, describing knowledge or understanding, as in he has a sub-wikipedia understanding of the situation. i.e possessing less facts or information than can be found in the Wikipedia.
