Greetings and thanks for the list! I recently acquired a very nice TR-7 which is exhibiting some anomalous behavior.
I left the TR-7 turned on for a couple of days (tuned to WWV) after I got it. When I came into the shack several days later, I could not hear anything. I turned the AF all the way up and could just barely hear the audio. I flipped the MODE switch from AM to USB and the audio came back on instantly. A couple of days later the same thing happened from a cold start and the mode on LSB. Barely any audio at all until I flipped the mode switch to AM, then it popped back up, and I switched back to LSB without any problem at all. I decided that maybe I just had dirty contacts on the Mode switch, so I left it alone and let it happen a couple more times. No specific pattern. Sometimes I would be listening in USB, sometimes CW, and sometimes AM. But each time it would pop right back as soon as I rotated the MODE switch. This evening it appears to have gone south completely. I lost audio. But when I turned the MODE switch, nothing happened. But I did hear a distinct "POP" whenever I dropped into the CW position, but no receive audio in any position. I turned it off - then back on a couple of times. Nothing. So I turned it off completely and walked away. Ten minutes later I turned it on and everything was fine. For now. Sound familiar? -Grady
