At the time the TR7 was designed, there was still some 850 Hz RTTY shift being used. 1 KHz would have been perfect for that. I can't recall when the big shift to 170 Hz occurred, but I remember still using 850 Hz in the mid to late 1970s.

I was documenting my ham equipment for insurance and estate planning purposes the other day and started wondering how common the 1000 Hz filter is in my TR-7. I can't remember the last time I saw one for sale. It's kind of an odd ball bandwidth, too narrow for SSB and a bit too wide for CW and 170 Hz shift RTTY. Thoughts? 73 Lee WB6SSW ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ _______________________________________________ Drakelist mailing list [email protected] http://mailman.zerobeat.net/mailman/listinfo/drakelist
