Just as an FYI, the following web page allows one to "calibrate" current
pricing against what things used to cost:

In 1962, Drake sold 2B accessory crystals for $5.00 each (per the 2B
manual). There is no mention of a shipping charge although there may have
been one (postage).

Using the calculator above, the 2010 equivalent price per crystal is
$36.09 plus shipping.

The fact that the actual base price for said crystals today seems to
run between $16 - $25 each probably reflects improved efficiency in the
manufacturing process. It is also worth remembering that Drake's original $5
price may have reflected an "economy of scale" if they ordered them in
quantity, whereas we today are ordering them (if from a crystal manufacturer)
specially made, one at a time. Had the latter been the case in 1962 they
*might* have cost more than $5 each, which might make today's typical price
all the more attractive since the 2010 equivalent of the 1962 "one-off"
manufactured price would be somewhat higher than the $36 estimate noted above.

So, IMHO today's prices are quite reasonable.
