Chuck,
I use a DFD103 on my C line. Not a very "large" display, but nicely
backlit, works well and easy to read. Just use a good quality double
female to single male RCA adapter when you plug the display into the
R4C. The display will read either VFO your using. Also, don't use a
"Y" adapter with pigtails. It's enough to load down the PTO on the
higher bands and give you unexpected readings.

Louie,
I had a similar problem with my R4-A. The solution to my problem was
replacement of a defective S-meter sensitivity calibration trimpot
located on one of the little circuit boards under the chassis. As I
recall, there are two such trimpots on two different circuit boards,
so make sure you have the right one. These are the cheap little pots
with no covers where you can see the actual arc of resistive material
along the circumference of the pot. An ohmmeter check of the pot
should tell weather or not it is the culprit.
Good luck,

Hello to all Drake fans:

Are there any recommendations for quality large digit digital
readouts for the Drake?????????? C - Line?? I would like to have
separate readout for both transmitter (T-4XC) and??? receiver?
(R-4C).? Can this be done?
?
Thank you to all.
