Merry Christmas to all, this my first attempt to post on the Drakelist so
here goes. I have A Drake MN2700 tuner that I bought back twenty years ago,
I never had the chance to work any bands other than 20, 15, 10, meters and
all that time it worked fine. I now have the equipment to work on 75, 80 and
160 meters. My MN2700 now has a problem with just 40 meters.

What is happening is on 40 meters after I get the SWR set on low power and
attempt to operate my TR7 on normal power the tuner cannot maintain the
power setting, the meter goes all the way to the right when selected on
reflected power and will remain there until I, release the mic button and of
course affects the transmit power

I removed the cover the other day in attempt to check out the unit, and
found the results of somebody changing parts a few unsoldered joints and
wires pinched between components. I also noticed on the band position switch
in the back of the unit where the capacitors are soldered, it appears that
two of them don't have the required voltage rating as compared to the
others. They are rated at 600 volts and are .002 mfd. It appears the others
are 5 kv.Not having a schematic or being familiar with what components that
were originally installed, perhaps somebody who has had more experience with
this unit would be able to help me out a schematic and a list of parts?

I want to thank Terry, who originally posted this request for me!

Thank you in advance
