I think if you use a HP 410B or 410C you will not have any issues??

Often, these meters connected one side of the line to the chassis of
the
meter, so that when you connect the negative of the meter to the radio,
sometimes you'll get quite a surprise.
Yep, just be careful and put that two lead plug in on the common side
of the outlet. The common side will be the one with the ribs on the
side of the wire,.... IF.... someone followed the instructions, and I
always check.
