Hello all. My R4b that's been my workhorse for many years is sick.
The audio output is very low. The receiver works fine otherwise. Looking
underneath found r43 the 330 ohm resistor was charred. Replaced it but no
change. The power supply caps have been changed and the tubes checked. Before
this happened I was hearing a scratchy noise in the speaker that would come
and go. I was trying to find the cause of this when I touched one of the volume
control lugs with an insulated screwdriver, drew a spark, then the audio went
bad. Any ideas? 73,
