I recall that early 1970's photo very clearly. I also have my AES catalog
from 1970 which shows Ray Grenier, K9KHW, standing next to a wall of Swan
boxes which was also very impressive to me at the time. I actually met Ray
at the 1998 Dayton Hamvention. We were both waiting in the line to get into
the restaurant at the Dayton Marriott. He was no longer sporting the his
famous crewcut-style haircut, but to anybody who had studied Ray's
advertising photos from 30 years before, he was easy to spot.
