They're a good outfit, alright. I've always heard good things about them. You're out in CA, right? Doesn't Fry's sell a lot of this sort of thing, or have they gone the way of being just a laptop and phone store now? I can remember going there when I was a field service engineer to get some components.
Yes, that's what I'm after are the ones with the NC contacts, such that when you plug in, it opens the circuit to the speaker. This will be the only mod I'll leave on this aside from the cooling fan. The AGC mods were much easier to undo than I anticipated. When I set the s-meter level the 40 dB over S9, I did run to the end of the pot's adjustment, however, which suggests there might still be some different parts in there. Let me know how your adjustment turned out. 73, Steve, W1ES/4 -----Original Message----- >From: Pete Juliano <[email protected]> >Sent: Nov 7, 2011 11:26 AM >To: Steve Wedge <[email protected]> >Cc: Drake List <[email protected]> >Subject: Re: [Drakelist] The de-modded R-4B Lives! > >Hi Steve, > >In case your local Rad Shack doesn't have the item.
