The original relay runs from the +250 VDC bus through the 6EV7 to ground. The relay is a P&B R10-Y4-E3-2.5k and is available from Mouser and Digikey and ... This is the same relay that is used in the later T-4X(any) and TR-4XC transmitters.

Drake used to offer a small PC board with a relay socket and some pins to spread out the connections. The Drake board is no longer available, but I do have an artwork for it. A list member built up a small adapter out of aluminum (could be PC board material) that worked out well. He wired directly to the relay socket contacts, which are very tight, and don't forget that lovely Drake wire insulation that melts at approximately 80 degrees!!. Apparently his hands are much steadier than mine! :-) He is planning to document 'soon'.

Just bought the T-4x and have not looked at it yet. The seller mentioned that he pulled the open relay and replaced it with a enclosed relay he had and also said the PTT circuit was now 12 vdc. Looking at the schematic, looks like the original was 6 volt on the PTT. I will likely change things back to where they were,is the original relay aviable from a vendor? anyone have a #? is there a covered reley that would work or ever a small pc board that would allow a plug in?
thanks
