I'm not sure it's the APIC. I also have a KT133 based motherboard, and
enabled or disabled in the kernel, it doesn't make a difference. My
instability with the Radeon driver seems to stem from DPMS. For some
reason, the April 30th driver (which I'm still using since all of the
May binaries have failed to correctly identify my Radeon VE, and I'm
waiting a day or two to give the main developers a chance to straighten
that out before I complain again) only becomes unstable when DPMS kicks
in. Doesn't matter if it's KDE or XScreenSaver that triggers it. Once
it goes into low power mode, it locks my system up hard, and only a
reboot can fix it (keyboard doesn't respond to anything). But I could
run an OpenGL screensaver all night long with no problems if I disable
DPMS.

As for the Q3A cinematics. I don't have a problem with them here.
Problem I have, is that I seem to get stuck in never ending games when
I try and play single player (non-skirmish). Managed to rack up around
200 frags in one game before I just got bored and quit. But, the
cinematics work fine. Actually, I did have a problem with them (not
seeing them) when I was running in 24-bit mode, but they work fine in
16-bit.
