One important point here is the embedded market. The x86 is definitely
not the only CPU used here and Linux is becoming a really important
player here.

I've been faced to the problem of finding a video chip to use in an
embedded box (non-x86), and there is no simple solution today if you
need some quality & speed. for kiosk stations. (except doing it all
in windoze on an industrial x86 board).
