The gears problem seems to happen if you close the window with the X or 
whatever in the window title bar.  Using ESC doesn't have this problem.  I 
guess there's a problem in the context teardown somewhere.

Where exactly in the game does the hang occur? Is it intermittent or 
repeatable?

When I tried it, the first round I play, everything looks fine.  Then when
the round is over and it starts the next round, the wall texture is
clamped rather than being repeated, and there are lines on the floor in
only one direction.  I've been meaning to investigate the armagetron
source to see if the problem is in the game or the driver.
