I just tested with quake3. The startup video doesn't work at all. I just
see the brownish background (first frame maybe?) but it doesn't get
updated. I can get to the main menu though so it doesn't lock up.
Selecting the videos from the menu just shows a black screen, but again
pressing ESC gets me back to menu.

The game itself seems to work ok, altough it managed to hang the system a
few times (something I wasn't able to do with X 4.1.0). I could still use
the magic sysrq key to reboot the machine. I'd like to try and reproduce
your hangs but if that means downloading some huge demos you can count me
out as I'm using a 56K modem.

Also turning off the GL extensions caused the in-game text messages to be
truncated, but screenshots made of the situation were fine. Oh and the
mouse cursor disappeared in the main menu. Selecting some submenu made it
reappear again only to disappear again when returning to the main menu.

Tested with:
X compiled without mga_hal module. host.def mostly unchanged.
G400 32MB DH @ AGP 2x
AMD Duron 600 MHz
X resolution 1600x1200 (16 and 32 bpp)
Quake3 resolution 640x480
Quake3 1.30

I'm going to try to the trunk later today.
