I take it that you set your options for the driver, andoverride them on a
per screen basis, whih acre in turn overridden on a per application basis?

If so I like that.

Ja, I like .conf style, plaintext.

If you want to implement it in XML then I'd definitely want a plain text
file which I can edit by hand, in case graphical editing program gets
broken, is unavilable, no GUI is available etc. 

If you can't do it via GUI and the command line its not a good thing.
