Yes, that's what I'm describing.  Would that break Mesa's build process
for those older versions, or would you deal with that by creating new
point versions with that fixed?

Anyway, if you do go with this method, could you put a copy of the
"before" version of the CVS repository up somewhere on the Mesa
sourceforge downloads page?
