------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-23-07 05:25 ------- Hi Hui, I'm back online and with good news. Yes, after replacing the kernel's drm driver with the one from dri with your patch, my card works fine in AGP4!!! Dri is enabled, and glxinfo confirmes this. Now for the performance difference; x11perf - strange enough, seems faster without dri: with your changes: [EMAIL PROTECTED] log]$ x11perf -repeat 1 -shmput500 x11perf - X11 performance program, version 1.5 The XFree86 Project, Inc server version 40399008 on :0.0 from matrix Wed Jul 23 01:42:20 2003 Sync time adjustment is 0.0350 msecs. 800 reps @ 6.3488 msec ( 158.0/sec): ShmPutImage 500x500 square before was: [EMAIL PROTECTED] log]$ x11perf -repeat 1 -shmput500 x11perf - X11 performance program, version 1.5 The XFree86 Project, Inc server version 40399008 on :0.0 from matrix Wed Jul 23 01:56:03 2003 Sync time adjustment is 0.0281 msecs. 1200 reps @ 5.5609 msec ( 180.0/sec): ShmPutImage 500x500 square May this be caused by the kernel? the test without your changes is done with vanilla 2.4.22-pre6. ArmageTron: 11 - 30 fps, before was unplayable, 3 seconds to change a selection in the game's menu! Tuxracer: fine at 1024x768, before was unplayable glxgears: 370fps (~10% variation), before was max 240fps (~10% variation) Installed the wolfenstein's demo and it runs fine! Without your patches one needs 10 seconds to select a menu. FWIK this game uses Quake's engine, I never saw the texture problems that you were noticing. In XF86Config-4 I made this changes besides setting agp4: Option "AGPFastWrite" "On" Option "EnablePageFlip" "On" AGPFastWrite does not seem to make a big difference, but EnablePageFlip gives a noticeable speedup. No crashes, nothing strange at all. I dont know what other stress testing I can do to this, if you want other tests done just ask! -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.xfree86.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee. ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: VM Ware With VMware you can run multiple operating systems on a single machine.
