Someone (sincere appologies for not remembering who) emailed me with a solution
for my performance issues. If you're having similar issues, add the following
to /etc/profile:
export RADEON_NO_IRQS=1
export RADEON_NO_USLEEPS=1
My glxgears framerate is now ~450, while my Quake2 and QuakeForge framerates are
very playable (~70 @ 640x480x24bpp).
I'd really like to thank everyone who contributed to these patches. For a
little while I was starting to regret purchasing my laptop..I'm very happy now.
I can program in Java3D oncemore :)
