since I updated DRI from a really old version (latest for X 4.2), quakeforge has been having this
bizarre problem where textures will occasionally flash patterns of white dots... as far as I can tell
this is caused by the lightmap depth-fighting with the regular texture, which is very odd since
lightmaps are transparent.

is NO-TCL (??).
Which card do you have and which drivers are you using? The output of 'glxinfo | grep GL_RENDER' is enough. If you have an R200 family card, does the problem still happen with ATI's drivers? It seems odd that the driver says NO-TCL, *unless* you have a card that doesn't have hardware TCL.
