Some cards have 2 DVI, 2 CRT, 1 DVI + 1 CRT, etc. They use different
the different ports for getting EDID depending on the output plugs.

My best bet is that your monid port is just broken or not implement on
the card from whichever vendor made your card. I can change the DRM
code so that this is not a fatal condition.

There is supposed to be some way to decode the VBIOS ROM and tell what
ports the card has. This would let me avoid initializing all of the
I2C ports. But I don't have detailed documentation on this.
