Probably not. My FireGL8800 used to crash a lot about one year ago while ajax' never crashed. And as far as I can tell, there is only one BIOS for that card. ( http://www.techpowerup.com/bios/?search=8800&Submit=Search ) BTW, a friend of mine reports 6.8.2 stable with his 8800, while it did not work on my machine. The 6.8.99.15 + 4 August 2005 DRI snapshot I use is stable here, but apparently crashes at his place. Weird. Now, we have identical computers (same motherboard, same motherboard bios, same video card, same CPU & cooler, same RAM, same sound card). Before anyone asks, neither computer is overheating, both are stable running and compiling for days, both are able to run ATI drivers without trouble. We use the same distro (gentoo).
