I did some more testing and found that I am able to switch VTs with the latest git but only if I use the aewm++ window manager instead of compiz (same xorg.conf). I reset my compiz configuration but the system crashed, so I'm guessing it has something to do with compositing. With aewm++ the screen pauses for a couple of seconds when switching back to X from VT1 but X functions properly after that. With compiz, the top 1/3 of the screen goes black/multicolored and the system hangs. Prior to the memmap commit (dd8ee1b444f4b973a1e0fadca5f943f2162b5e94) the screen would show the same distortion but it would manage to return properly to X. /Alec ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
