I get the impression the code destined for the kernel only has 
modesetting for intel?? Is this cvorrect?

The modesetting-gem branch seems to have modesetting for radeon and nv. 
I need to have full modesetting for a variety of chips, which is why I 
was keen on the modesetting-gem branch.

Is the modesetting-gem branch defunct now? Where else is the modesetting 
fro the other chips maintained?
