Hi,

I am trying to mount a HP SAN from my sun x4100 machine`s that are interconnected with 4GB Fabric cards from emulex. The problem is I don`t see the LUN id`s and it doesn`t want to configure but it the state is connected and unconfigured.
....
Although the device files are created:

luxadm -ev port [127] /devices/[EMAIL PROTECTED],0/pci1022,[EMAIL PROTECTED]/pci10df,[EMAIL PROTECTED]/[EMAIL PROTECTED],0:devctl NOT CONNECTED /devices/[EMAIL PROTECTED],0/pci1022,[EMAIL PROTECTED]/pci10df,[EMAIL PROTECTED],1/[EMAIL PROTECTED],0:devctl NOT CONNECTED
...
Any of you experienced this behaviour before and know a solution to this problem?

Check your switch to ensure that your hba is zoned in with
the storage.

Does your switch think that all the relevant ports are online?

Check the cables for kinks.

Check your gbics - the switch will have an error count which
you can check.

If you can get the output of "dump_map" from luxadm, check
the error counts.

If you're keen to dig into the kernel yourself, you could
read my presentation (now a little out of date but the diag
info is enough to get started with):

http://www.jmcp.homeunix.com/Getting_to_know_the_SAN_stack.pdf

and follow the hints for how to examine information using mdb -k.

Oh, and you could log a call with your OS support vendor :-)

cheers,
