Tried this but it didn't make any difference. I also tried uninstalling the frkit powernow driver completely, and still I see exactly the same timeouts. I also tried updating /etc/power.conf to disable autopm and run pmconfig (and rebooted) just in case but still no joy. Thanks for the suggestions, but we are stuck again and I have no idea how to debug this part of the system.
