Wouldn't the unsupported device set be a complement of the supported device set in the universe of all devices? And we already know the supported set from HCL? How is this useful then? I think there might be more to the proposal than you describe (e.g. perhaps more frequently reported devices would help us prioritize new driver projects), but it is not at all obvious.
