Hrm, I think the "pared down version" is still too busy.... Part of me says "why not just a raindrop?" it makes a good favicon.ico, the name doesn't have to be a part of the logo (Google, for instance), etc.
I don't think all the symbolism is dark....I like the symbolism of the person holding their arms out to the rain. It feels right...but again, it's too busy. The problem with a raindrop for me is that it's soft and round, and Drizzle isn't bloatware. It's fast and sleek. I like the meteorological symbol, it's concise (sleek) and simple (can be made B&W, is basically 2-color (blue & black) and can be good large or small. What about the meteorological symbol inside a raindrop instead of inside a plain blue ball? -Sheeri On 7/17/08, Mark Atwood <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > On Jul 17, 2008, at 12:54 PM, dormando wrote: > > We have some options for logos: >> >> http://xpectmore.eu/various/drizzle.html >> >> http://consoleninja.net/code/drizzle/DRIZZLE_hi-res.png >> >> http://drizzle.wikia.com/wiki/Image:Wiki.png >> > > > > THey are all too buzy > > A graphic artist friend looked at them, and in one minute stripped one of > them down to > > > http://www.tg-studios.com/Logos/driz.png > > > > -- > Mark Atwood <http://mark.atwood.name> > > > > > _______________________________________________ > Mailing list: > https://launchpad.net/~drizzle-discuss<https://launchpad.net/%7Edrizzle-discuss> > Post to : [email protected] > Unsubscribe : > https://launchpad.net/~drizzle-discuss<https://launchpad.net/%7Edrizzle-discuss> > More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp > -- - Sheeri K. Cabral Note: Currently I work for The Pythian Group (http://www.pythian.com/ ), a remote DBA firm, and consulting would constitute a conflict of interest. However, I do recommend our work, and if you're looking for DBA work (I do MySQL work, but they have great Oracle and SQL Server DBAs too) right now, whether you need a few hours a week, or someone fulltime while you continue a job search. I have a webpage with tips on how to find a DBA: http://sheeri.net/how-to-find-a-dba/ I can recommend http://www.toomanyconnections.com as a good site to find MySQL (and Oracle) DBAs. If you're looking for web design, I recommend the small business my husband works for, http://www.digital-loom.com I regret that I have no other information for any other type of position, including developer, programmer and systems administrator.
