I disagree. This all started from a discussion of whether we should
pull out the standard deviation functions, and someone opined that it
could only help speed things up, and I disagreed and without
measurement anyway, it's a moot point.
I understand the value of a gut feeling, but I also am quick to wave
the flag of Rule #2. No measurement means that it's speculation.
